When you need to find a safe, quiet place for your cat to stay, it helps to know there's somewhere nearby that truly cares. Qualco Cattery is set in the peaceful Lancashire countryside at Lathom, near Ormskirk, and it's only around 25 minutes from St Helens. The M58 makes the journey straightforward, whether you're coming from the centre of town, Rainford or Billinge.
We regularly welcome cats from across the St Helens area. Our cattery has been a trusted choice for cat owners on this side of Lancashire for decades, and we're proud of that.
We know that cats need peace and quiet to feel at ease, especially somewhere new. Our cattery is purposefully kept separate from the kennels, so there's no barking, no commotion and no stress. Each cat gets their own spacious, individual accommodation with room to stretch out, a comfortable bed and a window to watch the world go by.
Our family has been looking after cats here since 1965, and we've learned a lot in that time. Every cat is different. Some settle in within minutes, while others need a bit more patience. We take the time to let each cat adjust at their own pace, and we keep a close eye on how they're doing throughout their stay. Feeding routines, favourite spots, little quirks: we pay attention to it all.
We're open seven days a week for drop-offs and collections. Monday to Saturday it's 9am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 5pm. On Sundays, 10am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 5pm.
Our cattery welcomes cats from all parts of the St Helens area. Rainford is especially close, and we see plenty of cats from Billinge, Haydock and Newton-le-Willows too. The M58 keeps the drive short, so even if you're dropping off on your way to the airport or heading out for a holiday, it fits easily into your journey.
